Our School
Beechfield is a friendly and inclusive school with high expectations for every child academically and socially. Our school population is a reflection of the rich cultural diversity of our local community. Our children and their families originate from many different countries around the world and speak a large number of languages. This makes our school a vibrant, exciting and special place to be.
At Beechfield, we are committed to safeguarding all members of our community. We believe that our school should provide a safe, caring, positive, and stimulating environment in which pupils can learn. We promote the social, physical and emotional wellbeing of each individual, because if you feel safe and happy you will learn well. At all times, we take notice of, and adhere to, national and local policies and guidance in regards to keeping children safe in education.
School attendance is very important to us. We want every child in school every day because we believe this gives our children the best possible start to their education and prepares them for their future. We know coming to school every day benefits the children socially and emotionally as well as educationally. We regularly monitor each child's attendance from Nursery to Year 6 and offer help and support to our families to ensure children are in school every day.
We have a great team of staff who have high expectations for education and behaviour. The school provides the children a secure and happy environment in which to learn and develop as young people.
The partnership between home and school is a vital one, so we work in close partnership with our parents and families to do the very best for our children and our community. We have a dedicated pastoral team who support our children and families.
Our practice is rooted in our belief that all members of the community should be treated with respect and dignity and that everyone has the right to equality of opportunity and is of equal worth. We strive for equity and equality by encouraging and respecting diversity, challenging discrimination and holding courageous conversations.
Our school is an open one, where we are keen to see and hear from parents. Please feel free to raise any concerns or queries with your child’s class teacher, myself or the office staff, who can put you in contact with the right person. You can contact me directly via email at head@beechfield.herts.sch.uk or on X at @HeadBeechfield.
