Volunteering

We are fortunate to have a fantastic group of volunteers who come into school on a regular basis to support us with a variety of activities.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering can provide you with:

  • Experience of working within a school environment.
  • Sharing your skills whilst learning new skills.
  • Enjoyment from working with and helping children.
  • Being a valued member of our team and school community.

Who can volunteer?

Volunteering is a great opportunity for parents and members of the local community and for the school and is of great benefit to the children.

We are looking for volunteers on regular basis to help in class and around the school.

If you feel you have can commit to volunteering your time and skills on regular basis then we want to hear from you!

Types of volunteering:

  • Hearing children read on a one to one basis
  • Supporting groups within the classroom
  • Helping with gardening around the school
  • Playing games at lunchtime or breaktime with the children
  • Supporting in the pastoral centre at lunchtime

Volunteer feedback:

Mrs Karagulian kindly comes in at lunch time to run the Kids Club.  It is a voluntary class that takes place during the school lunch break and is open to children who choose to participate, making the time even more special and spontaneous. From Monday to Friday, students enjoy a different project each day, created with simple materials and lots of creativity. The idea shows that even with limited resources it is possible to create meaningful and fun activities. Through colours, imagination and many discoveries, children have the opportunity to explore ideas, develop skills and enjoy a creative and joyful moment during their school day.

Thank you Beechfield for accepting me as a volunteer in your team.
I feel very welcomed by the staff and the children I work with. It is a pleasure to work with you all and every week I look forward to coming and spending time with you all.
After retirement, this opportunity makes me feel good to continue to be useful.
This is the joy of life to be connected with society once again.
Thank you.

Lata Daswani.

Interested in becoming a volunteer?

If you are interested in volunteering at our school the following information will be of use to you before you apply.

All volunteers will be required to have a DBS check and supply two references. This will be undertaken by the school. There is a cost associated with this payable by the school, for this reason we ask that volunteers are confident that they can commit their time before applying.
